Construction Worker Photo Takes Social Media By Storm

Omaha police snapped a photo of two men showing their support during Tuesday's funeral for Officer Kerrie Orozco.
"That's where we felt the best spot was to at least nod our head and, you know, let the family and other officers know that there are people out there that care," said Alex Domingus, a construction worker for Scott Enterprises.
It is Domingus and Ian Schoenberger who can be seen in the photo. It was damp and dreary, so their construction job was called off for the day. From work, the two traveled to the bridge heading into Council Bluffs to hopefully get a better look at the funeral procession. The sight alone took their breath away.
Schoenberger is also a construction worker for Scott Enterprises. "My body had a tingly sensation, my hair stood up the whole time."
Knowing Kerrie's involvement as a mentor to young athletes, Schoenberger said dropping to one knee only seemed fitting. "I used to be an athlete myself growing up and one thing is, is when a player is hurt, they tell you to take a knee to show a sign of respect until that player gets up."
The response on social media has been overwhelming. Hundreds of people began chiming in, explaining how moved they were by the young men's actions.
"This matter isn't about me or him or us taking a knee, putting our hard hats on our heart, it's just what we wanted to do," said Schoenberger. "It's about the young lady. She's the one that lost her life."
